WordPress development in Dubai for a property operator is not the same job as building a company profile site. Your website has to show live units, take direct bookings in dirhams, give owners a view of their property's performance and hand guests over to WhatsApp without losing them. We build and rescue WordPress sites for holiday-home operators, property management companies and short-let brands in Dubai, and this page sets out how we do it and what we will ask you on the first call.

If you run a portfolio of apartments or villas and your website is a gallery plus a "book on Airbnb" button, this is written for you.

Hiring a WordPress developer in Dubai: what property operators actually need

A WordPress developer in Dubai who is right for a property business models your units, owners and bookings as structured data first, then designs around it. The theme is the last decision, not the first. Get the data model wrong and the site looks finished on launch day and becomes a manual chore within a month.

The briefs we see from this sector repeat the same pattern. An operator starts with a handful of units, adds owners, then needs a guest-facing site that behaves like a hotel front desk: check-in instructions, house rules, local recommendations, late check-out requests. They want it mobile-first because guests use it from a phone in the lobby, and they want to own it rather than rent another SaaS seat. WordPress fits that brief well, as long as it is built properly.

What that means in practice for a property operator:

  • Units as a custom post type, not pages. Each apartment or villa has its own fields: community, bedrooms, sleeps, amenities, permit number, photo set, owner. Search and filters work off those fields, so adding unit forty takes five minutes, not a developer.
  • Roles that match your business. Admin, operations team, owners who can see their own unit's bookings and statements, and guests who see only their stay. That separation is where most off-the-shelf themes fall down.
  • A short, maintained plugin list. Every plugin is a future update, conflict or security hole. We build the specific features you need in a lean custom plugin rather than stacking ten third-party ones.
  • Booking that does not fight your PMS. If you already run a property management system or channel manager such as Guesty or Hostaway, the website reads availability and pushes bookings through its API instead of keeping a second calendar that drifts.

What a WordPress developer builds for a holiday-home or property management company

A WordPress developer for a property operator builds three things on one site: a public storefront that converts browsers into direct bookings, a guest area that replaces a stack of WhatsApp voice notes, and an owner area that answers "how is my unit doing?" without a call to your accounts team.

  • Direct booking storefront. Unit pages with real availability, AED pricing, clear cancellation terms and a checkout that works on a 360px phone. A direct booking is a booking without portal commission, so this is the part that pays for the site.
  • Guest portal. Digital check-in details, access instructions released on the day, house manuals per unit, upsells such as airport transfers or early check-in, and a request form that lands with your operations team as a ticket, not a lost message.
  • Owner portal. Login per owner, bookings and occupancy for their unit, monthly statements as downloadable PDFs, maintenance updates with photos. Owners who can see their numbers ask fewer questions and renew their management agreements.
  • Leads for new owners. A landlord-facing section with a rental estimate form, so the site also grows your portfolio, not just your bookings. Each enquiry goes straight into your CRM.
  • Content your team can edit. Area guides, blog posts and seasonal offers edited in the block editor, with your brand styles locked in so nobody breaks the layout.

Some operators need more: an external database the site has to read from, a supplier feed, an Excel import that generates owner statements in bulk. Those are the jobs where "WordPress developer" stops meaning "theme installer" and starts meaning someone who writes PHP and works with APIs. That is the work we take on.

The Dubai layer: Arabic, AED payments, permits and WhatsApp

This is the part a template, or a developer who has never shipped a site for the UAE, gets wrong. A WordPress site that works for a holiday rental in Europe is not automatically one that works in Dubai.

  • Arabic and right-to-left. If your owners or guests read Arabic, the Arabic site needs its own layout pass - spacing, forms, tables, date pickers - not a translated menu on a flipped stylesheet.
  • AED checkout through a UAE gateway. Guests pay in dirhams on local cards. We integrate the gateways that operate here, such as Telr, PayTabs, Network International or Stripe, and set up the one your business already banks with. Security deposits and pre-authorisations need their own flow.
  • Permit numbers on listings. Holiday homes in Dubai are registered with the Department of Economy and Tourism, and units advertised for sale or long-term rent carry a Trakheesi advertising permit. We add those as fields on each unit so they display wherever your licence conditions require, and so nobody has to remember to type them in.
  • WhatsApp-first guests. Most guest questions in the UAE arrive on WhatsApp. We place click-to-chat where it helps on mobile, and where volume justifies it, connect booking confirmations and check-in messages to the WhatsApp Business API. Read what WhatsApp Business API pricing in the UAE actually looks like before assuming it is expensive.
  • Speed on mobile data. Guests open your site from a taxi or an airport lounge. Images, fonts and scripts are budgeted so unit pages load fast on a phone, and we test on real devices, not a resized browser. Our post on responsive website design in Dubai covers where mobile layouts usually break.

WordPress sites we have built and run

We have built WordPress sites for businesses in Dubai and abroad, and the lessons carry across. Three that make the point:

  • Easy Wedding Dubai - the Dubai edition of a multi-country wedding-planning network, on WordPress, where our job was UAE-specific keyword targeting, local search and on-page work so the site ranks for wedding planning and vendor searches in Dubai. The live site leads with packages, destination weddings and a portfolio, with WhatsApp chat one tap away on mobile. Across the wider network we also ran the web builds, SEO and Zoho CRM; the Easy Wedding case study has the numbers. The lesson for a property operator is the same: a WordPress site is only as useful as the local search traffic and the follow-up behind it.
  • Paradigm Design and Construction - an architecture and construction firm whose sales collateral lived in WhatsApp threads. We replaced it with a WordPress site built around a visual portfolio gallery and booking integration, plus a 50+ page company profile. More on our Paradigm Design project page.
  • Gardners - a UK landscaping and garden maintenance company. The site had to convert local enquiries and prove the work, so we built it on WordPress with a project portfolio gallery, service listings and a local SEO structure. Swap "garden projects" for "managed units" and it is the same problem a property operator has.

Already on WordPress or Wix? Upgrades, speed and rescues

A large share of the WordPress work we take on is not a new build. It is an existing site that has outgrown whoever set it up: a theme customised by a freelancer who has disappeared, a page builder that makes every page slow, a booking plugin that double-books, a contact form that stopped sending email weeks ago and nobody noticed.

We start with an audit of the site, its plugins, hosting and analytics, and give you a written list in priority order: what is broken, what is costing bookings, what is a security risk. From there you choose: fix the urgent items, rebuild on WordPress with your content and URLs kept intact, or move platform. If you are weighing WordPress against Wix, our Wix development in Dubai page sets out when Wix is the better call, and we will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.

When a site is rebuilt, we keep its search history. Redirect maps, metadata and structured data move with the content, so the rankings you have earned do not reset on launch day. Our SEO services team works on the build, not after it.

What decides the quote

We do not publish a price list for WordPress development, because two property sites with the same page count can differ hugely in the work involved. We scope precisely and quote a fixed price. The things that move it most:

  • Booking model - enquiry-only, booking requests you confirm manually, or instant booking with payment.
  • Integrations - none, a payment gateway only, or also your PMS or channel manager, CRM, accounting software and WhatsApp.
  • Portals - public site only, or guest and owner areas with their own logins and documents.
  • Languages - English only, or English and Arabic with a proper RTL layout.
  • Existing site - a clean start, or a migration that must keep content, URLs and rankings.
  • Design scope - a well-configured premium theme or a custom design from Figma.

Tell us where you sit on each and we can usually give a reliable recommendation on the first call and a fixed quote within a few days. Our web development service covers the wider stack, and our real estate industry page covers brokerages and developers.

Why GoDesign for WordPress development in Dubai

  • Data model before design. Units, owners, bookings and roles are agreed in writing before a single page is drawn.
  • Staging first, always. Nothing goes live on your real site until it has passed on a copy, which matters when your site already holds bookings.
  • One team designs, builds, tests and does the SEO. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor.
  • You own it. Code, hosting, domain and admin access are yours from day one.
  • A care plan if you want one. Core, theme and plugin updates, backups, uptime checks and small changes, so the site does not quietly decay.

Frequently asked questions

Is WordPress a good choice for a holiday-home or property management website in Dubai? Yes, when it is built properly. WordPress handles content-heavy sites, multiple user roles and integrations well, and you own the code and data rather than renting a platform. It becomes a problem when it is built from a stack of plugins with no data model, which is why we model units, owners and bookings first and keep the plugin list short.

Can a WordPress site connect to our PMS or channel manager? In most cases, yes. Systems such as Guesty and Hostaway expose APIs, so the site can read live availability and pass bookings through rather than keeping a second calendar. We confirm what your specific system allows during scoping, before we quote.

Can you take over and fix our existing WordPress site rather than rebuilding it? Usually. We start with an audit of the site, plugins, hosting and analytics, and give you a prioritised written list of what is broken and what is costing bookings. You then choose targeted fixes or a rebuild that keeps your content, URLs and rankings. If the site genuinely is not worth saving, we say so before you spend more on it.

How fast can a WordPress site go live? It depends on the booking model, integrations and portals, not the page count. A brochure-style site with an enquiry form is quick; instant booking with a PMS integration and owner logins takes longer because each connection is tested on staging first. We fix the timeline in the scope document, so you know the launch date before work starts.

Do you build in Arabic as well as English? Yes. The Arabic site gets its own right-to-left layout pass covering forms, tables, date pickers and spacing, tested on the same phones as the English version, rather than a translated menu on a flipped stylesheet.
